 Well, it’s likely you’re being taken advantage of. A study from Duke University found that managers often ask their most loyal employees to do extra tasks – usually for no extra pay – rather than their less diligent co-workers. “Companies want loyal workers, and there is a ton of research showing that loyal workers provide all sorts of positive benefits to companies,” said lead researcher Matthew Stanley, Ph.D. “But it seems like managers are apt to target them for exploitative practices.” In other words: Hard workers get more work, while those who don't work as hard get don't get asked to do more. Wonder who's smarter?
