Workers saying no to coming back to the office ... Companies may be telling their employees to come back to the office, but a lot of employees are just saying no – and they are getting away with it. A huge survey found that for companies requiring employees to come in five days a week, less than 49% of employees are actually doing so. In other words, more than 50% are simply ignoring the fact that they are supposed to be coming into the office. And even at companies that only require employees to come in a few days a week, nearly 20% aren’t coming in as much as they are required to. And it seems there are no repercussions. According to the survey, only 12% of respondents said they were fired for refusing to come back to the workplace. So what’s stopping employers from forcing their employees to come to the office? They are afraid of people leaving. For now, anyway, employees seem to hold the power.
