MOTOWN: Grammy Salute TV Special

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • Fortunately, many of the label's earliest legends, such as Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and Martha Reeves, are still alive and active.
  • So are later-era stars Lionel Richie and Boyz II Men.
  • There's plenty of TV footage to honor the late Marvin Gaye and members of The Temptations and Four Tops.
  • Which modern-day stars or non-Motown veterans are best suited to sing classic Motown?

Continuing in the path of previous TV specials on Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, The Bee Gees and, in 2018, Elton John, this year's show focuses on the label Berry Gordy founded 60 years ago .

The producers have reached out to several artists about appearing but aren't ready to announce anyone specific. (Billboard)
