Yella Beezy's legal issues worsened this week after he was arrested in connection with a sexual assault charge from last year.

According to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office in Texas, Yella Beezy, born Markies Deandre Conway, was taken into police custody on Thursday, May 26. The rapper was apprehended just a day after a judge signed off on an arrest warrant due to "bond held insufficient," which indicates that the amount of his previously set bail may be below the required amount. The 30-year-old artist was arrested last November and was released the following day after he reportedly posted a $57,700 bond.

Conway was initially booked and charged with felony sexual assault, abandoning or endangering a child and unlawfully carrying a weapon. Several days after he was arrested, a unidentified woman came forward with details about the sexual assault she allegedly endured from the Texas rapper. According to a report TMZ, the woman claimed Conway had raped her back in April 2021. She reportedly informed police about the incident while she was in the ER following her date with the rapper.

The victim claimed that Conway reached out to her on Instagram and asked if she was looking for a new friend. After speaking with him, the rapper eventually asked her out and they planned to get dinner and go bowling. Since their bowling reservation wasn't until 10 p.m., Conway suggested for them to wait at his home to pass the time.

She said they had played card games until he asked for a massage while shirtless. She agreed but afterward she claimed Conway pounced on her. He allegedly kissed her without her consent, pulled her dress up and inserted his penis into her vagina against her will. After the allegations spread across the Internet, Conway decided to speak out and defend himself.

"Y'all just gotta stop playing on my name," he said in a video posted to his Instagram timeline. "I was arrested on false allegations. I was arrested before I was even questioned and I knew about anything [that] was going on, but it's false allegations. Everybody that knows me knows I'm not pressed over sex or anything of that nature. I ain't no aggressive person. That don't even fit me, at all...my character. Me and that same thing doesn't even belong in the same sentence. It doesn't even sound right coming out of my mouth."

As of this report, Yella Beezy is currently behind bars with a new bail set at $1 million.
