Lili Reinhart is opening up about her battle with anxiety and depression. The 22-year-old Riverdale star took to social media to reveal she's starting therapy again to treat her mental illness, as well as encourage anybody else who may be suffering silently or alone to seek the help they need.
"Friendly reminder for anyone who needs to hear it: Therapy is never something to feel ashamed of," she wrote on Instagram Story. "Everyone can benefit from seeing a therapist. Doesn't matter how old or 'proud' you're trying to be."
"We are all human. And we all struggle. Don't suffer in silence." Lili continued. "Don't feel embarrassed to ask for help.I'm 22. I have anxiety and depression. And today I started therapy again. And so the journey of self-love begins for me."
"Good luck to you on yours," she concluded her encouraging, honest post.
This isn't the first time Lili has spoken about her ongoing struggle with anxiety and depression. “I’ve had social anxiety forever,” she told Seventeen back in April 2018. “I don’t thrive in social or party settings. I’d rather stay home and read a book.”
She's been super candid about her struggle with body dysmorphia, as well. "As women and even men we struggle with our bodies every day when we look in the mirror and especially when you're put in the spotlight and people critique your outfits, your skin, your body, your hair, whatever," the actress told E! News. "It's a battle for me every day to accept what I am and my flaws and know that you know I can't change certain parts about me and that's fine."
Best of luck to Lili as she starts therapy again on her journey of self-love. Thank you for your honesty!
