Artist Claims Kendrick Lamar's "All The Stars" Video Stole Her Work

Kendrick Lamar is facing heavy allegations from a British-Liberian artist by the name of Lina Iris Viktor for using her art without permission in the video with SZA for "All The Stars".

The video for the single off "Black Panther: The Album" dropped last week and featured Afrofuturistic visuals along with the alleged art copied from Lina Iris Viktor

In an interview with the New York Times it was revealed that the artist had been previously approached twice by Disney and Marvel creators to use her art but she did not agree to it due to having to forfeit some creative control.

The art which can be seen below does bear a striking resemblance to art seen in the video.

The artist lawyers have sent out a letter to Top Dawg Anthony Tiffith himself claiming a copyright infringement in the video.

In the interview with NYT she said: "Why would they do this? It’s an ethical issue, because what the whole film purports is that it’s about black empowerment, African excellence — that’s the whole concept of the story. And at the same time they’re stealing from African artists.”

No word yet as to what further action will be taken but we will update this article as the story unfolds.
